By using the Kovri protocol, the IP address will not be able to be linked to the Monero transactions that are taking place on the network. This provides an even stronger degree of privacy and anonymity.
Kovri basically protects users from passive network monitoring. This means that the payments are untraceable and the people snooping the network cannot tell if someone’s even using Monero at all.
It seems that the Monero developers even said that the I2P is considered to be superior to Tor and this is because of its support for decentralized routing and asymmetric connections, which are mitigating “timing attacks.”
